In this episode of Our Bound Liberation, we are joined by Aki Hirata Baker. We discuss radical efficiency, the invisible realm, reclamation, being in the in between, and more.
Aki Hirata Baker is an initiated Medicine Woman, Moondancer, teacher, speaker, space holder, multi-modality healing practitioner, and community organizer whose work is based on the decolonial spiritual liberation principle.
She draws from her trainings on various energetic healing modalities, flower essence therapy, Ayurvedic medicine, Yogic principles, lineage practices of Medicine Way, and Toltec tradition to facilitate healing, which she considers to be the basic ingredient of social change and collective liberation.
She is a founder of MINKA brooklyn, a collectively-run healing space that centers the work to heal from all forms of social oppressions to restore humanities, and an un-capitalistic approach to the 'business of being well’.
She took tutorage under Dr. Naina Marballi, Karen Rose, Lindsay Fauntleroy, Irma StarSpirit Turtle Woman, Sergio Magana Ocelocoyotl, Rita Navarrete Perez, Tonia Gonzalez, Manu DelPrete, Susy Meszoly, and Integral Yoga Institute.
She is an immigrant from Japan, and has called Brooklyn her home for the last 25 years. She is currently spending a year with her family in her grandmother’s home in Japan exploring her ancestral land and its medicine. Aki has devoted her life to studies of mysticism, philosophy, healing modalities, and liberation principles.
